We have a Blue Heron that stays at the lake every summer and this year we have a newcomer, a White Heron is summering here too. These two were fishing for their lunch when the dogs and I were out on a stroll.

Wow – such long necks and the blue one looks like a metal statue 🙂
They are pretty fast swooping those necks down and snatching up fish. They can lean way out and get under the water quickly.

Thank you. Sometimes they will lunge at them and bark causing the bird to fly, which if I am not paying attention, is quite disconcerting.
